Israel G. Torres, Managing Partner of Torres Consulting & Law Group, was appointed to the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) Board of Directors. Torres will serve with a dynamic group of business and government leaders who guide the Council and work collaboratively to shape the region’s economy.
“I am honored to join this group of individuals who are committed to establishing the Greater Phoenix region as an economy that benefits all of Arizona,” said Torres.
GPEC’s mission is to attract businesses for economic growth that creates high-paying jobs for skilled workers. With extensive experience in business development in the building and construction sector, Torres brings unique insight into important issues such as workforce development, wages, and labor relations.
“I believe my experience in the building and construction trades will help the Council develop strategies that support economic growth in the immediate future and create long-term policies that promote sustainability and opportunities for future generations,” said Torres.
Torres has a solid track record of providing leadership during times of economic growth. He served as a member of Governor Janet Napolitano’s cabinet as the Director of the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC) during Arizona’s booming construction industry from 2003 to 2006. Prior to working for the State of Arizona, Torres served as Chief of Staff for then City of Phoenix Councilman Greg Stanton, and as a Zoning Adjustment Hearing Officer.
